Physical Focus explained:Physical Focus was created around 2016 by Founder and Chief Instructor Kanma Chukwu, in his first role as a primary school teacher. "I realised I could be utilising my in depth knowledge and experience of martial arts, to provide a fun and fulfilling activities that all youngsters of all ability and aptitude could benefit from". Physical Focus is a cognitive, rhythm based, problem solving activity derived from the martial arts movements of Silat. Learners practice harmonious movements at different intervals and speeds. After each session learners will feel a level of achievement and accomplishment, which develops progressively over each completed session.
The 'Physical Focus' children’s Syllabus is designed to give children an engaging and fun course; introducing them to many of the basic principles of control and focus. This prepares a child for training in Silat, any other martial art, as well as enhancing any sporting developments. Physical Focus is taught as a course, typically completed by students training once (1.5hours) a week, in approximately 10 - 12 weeks. It is comprised of four main topics/areas of learning:
In each session the children will be working on, and improving their understanding of awareness, rhythm, balance and coordination. Children will then receive certificates of participation after completing all 4 levels of the course. Sessions are run by Founder and Chief Instructor Kanma Chukwu. Kanma is fully insured, First Aid trained and DBS checked. No Punch or Kick: Kanma has specifically taken the punching and kicking aspects out so the course can also be provided to volatile and aggressive youngsters who are often in situations of conflict. Kanma wants to make sure this course of learning is peaceful and productive for all learners. Amazing success: With overwhelmingly positive feedback from professional colleagues, head teachers, SENCO’s, parents and of course, the amazing children who take part. All have experienced the positive impacts of change on children’s activity levels, health, social confidence, attainment and behavior. Kanma would now like to provide ‘Physical Focus’ to your establishment. “DEVELOPING MOVEMENT IS DEVELOPING EXCELLENCE” K.C |
